Early Life and Education
James Cook, also known as Captain Cook, was born on November 7, 1728, in Marton, Yorkshire, England. He was the second son of a Scottish farmer named James Cook Sr., who later moved to the village of Aireyholme near Richmond, North Yorkshire.
